Day 1: Visit the Historic city of Mediaeval St. Jacob
Your exploration should start from the historic city center of Madrid or what is commonly referred to as the city’s Barrio:) The journey begins at Puerta del Sol, an emblematic public area containing the strong energy of the city and the clock. It is recommended to go on a one day trip to the beautiful town of Toledo from Madrid. Located not far from Madrid in the North you can easily reach Toledo with is exquisite Gothic and moorish architectural and historical influence. The Toledo Cathedral is breathtaking – don’t miss its allure – the town is small with narrow streets packed with quaint shops and cafes.
Day 7: Explore Art at Reina Sofia
Next visit the Reina Sofia Museum where you will continue your tour of art with other contemporary and modern art masterpieces. Visit Picasso’s masterpiece Guernica and see more art works of other famous artist as Miró and Dalí.
Day 8: Shop in Gran Via
Have fun shopping at the Gran Vía Madrid, the city’s main shopping avenue. This is an active and stylish street featuring fashionable and luxury stores ranging from Western and local clothing, shoe and accessories outlets, department store, and theater. Day 9: Experience Flamenco
Last but not, the least you should consider visiting a flamenca show to feel the heart and soul of Spain. This is a common characteristic of the flamenco, a traditional Spanish art that you can watch being performed in several theatres in Madrid.
Day 10: Visit the Templo de Debod
The timely end to your ten-day vacation should see you visit the Templo de Debod an ancient Egyptian temple situated in Madrid. It is a curious landmark which provides beautiful sunsets and calm atmosphere recuperating from the noisy city lights.
