by

If I get the opportunity to visit Budapest then I know it, I am in for a treat! The capital of the country is quite an historic city with great architecture and energetic cultural life. Within the next two days exploring the city, one can afford to visit such sights as the city sights, taste some of the delicious specialties of the area, and feel the rhythm of the city. It is now time to see an example of the most effective way to organize your day in Budapest!

Day 1: Exploring Pest

Morning: Explore Hungarian Houses of Parliament

Take your first step to Hungary by visiting one of the largest attractions in Budapest, the Hungarian Parliament. It has a Gothic Revival design: take a tour of the building for detailed comments on the Hungarian political situation. Remember walk around and explore the surrounding environment of the riverside.

Afternoon: Stroll Along Andrassy Avenue

Visit two of Budapest’s most picturesque sites: the Metropolitan Promenade, a UNESCO area popular for its excellent examples of 19th century architecture and upscale shopping malls. Whether you stop at the Hungarian State Opera House or not, just keep walking heading to the official end of the boulevard: Heroes’ Square, a monument to Hungary’s past.

Evening: Organize a relaxed visit at Széchenyi Thermal Bath

After such an intensive day, you might deserve some leisure time and what could be better for a thermal bath than Széchenyi Thermal Bath, which is one of the largest and most beautiful thermal bath in Europe indeed. Get into the warm water, take saunas and marvel at the beauty of the place. Nowhere else will you get the authentic taste of this historic thermal bath house than at the listed below facility!

Day 2: Exploring Buda

Morning: Explore Buda Castle

The second day is dedicated to the historical district of Budapest Buda, the Royal Palace Buda Castle. Go for a stroll around the magnificent castle and feast on awesome and wonderful views of the city. Visit other museums located within the castle grounds these are the Hungarian National Gallery and Budapest History Museum.

Afternoon: Cross the Chain Bridge

One can walk over the Chain Bridge towards the Gellért Hill; in this part of the city you may visit the Citadella and contemplate a magnificent view. Take several shots which will help to make the second part of your vacation enjoyable when you get back to Pest.

Evening: Cruise on the Danube River

Sort your last day of the trip by enjoying a beautiful and spectacular evening ride on the Danube River. Check out breathtaking marvels of Budapest at night time including the House of Parliament, Buda Castle, and the Chain Bridge. Savor a good meal onboard and celebrate the pleasant visit with a filling dinner.

Additional Tips

It might be worth considering getting a Budapest Card which entitles you to free traveling on all public transport and free or reduced price admission to pretty much everything.

Sample Hungary’s specialties like the goulash; a thick, rich stew made from beef, onions, paprika, and other spices; chimney cake; a kind of cylindrical cylindrical pastry that is filled with toppings like sugar, nuts, and other sweet ingredients; and langos; thick flour pancakes that are served with toppings from sour cream to sifted sugar.

For example, try not to lose sight of Hungarians’ biggest commercial center – the Great Market Hall, where you can buy Hungarian food, souvenirs and gastronomic specialties.

Be comfortabe with shoes because there will be many cases of two site visits.

View the times of operation of the established attractions before hand, and consider getting the tickets online to avoid time wastage.

Using this guide, you will be able to visit all the places of interest within two days in Budapest. Don’t forget though, that there is much more to offer in this city so if you would like to spend more time there – do it!
